The Chef Hat Lets You Bookmark and Organize Recipes From All Over the Web
Chrome / iOS: There’s no shortage of ways to organize recipes you find on the web , but they come and go so quickly it’s nice to see a new one. Chef’s Hat is a bookmarking and scraping tool that saves recipes you find online so that they can be easily found and prepared later.
After registering for an account with Chef’s Hat (via Facebook, Twitter, or email), you can install the Chrome extension and start cutting out the recipes you see online into your account. There’s also an iOS app that lets you access these saved recipes on your iPhone or iPad, perfect for when you’re in the kitchen about to start cooking. It also adds a Safari Sharing extension to iOS, so you can save recipes you find while on the go. The app development team is planning the next version of Android.
To be honest, Chef’s Hat is not the most reliable recipe manager. It lacks some key features such as the ability to edit recipes after cutting them and organize the recipes saved in your account. This worked well for me on popular cooking sites where the ingredients and directions are clearly marked, but when I tried to add a recipe I posted to CSA on Instagram or a recipe I found on Instructables it was a mess of garbled text or worse , photo with nothing. However, it is one of the quickest, nicest, and easiest to use – if all you need is a tool to cut and save those recipes in a beautiful visual format, or a reminder to come back and cook those beautiful dishes for which you come across. , this is a tool to look out for. Plus it’s completely free.
