Get More Money From Your Garage Sale by Measuring Pre-Sale Interest in Items
Summer may be over, but in some places you will still find garage sales. If you want to get rid of more items and also set the price accordingly, try this trick: ask people to email you about items they are interested in.
As Lucas Moore explains, you post the same garage sale ad on Craigslist as usual, but you also post certain items in categories such as furniture for sale.
I advised people to email me the products they are interested in and the price. This way, I knew which products were the most popular and at what prices people were willing to pay. This helped with bartering during the sale, but also gave me a list to go back to when certain items were not on sale.
The beauty of this tactic is that after a garage sale, if some of the popular items don’t sell, you could email people to ask people to sell those items individually.
Ready to throw your own garage sale and finally get rid of your belongings while making money? Creating a list of interests by email can make things easier.
