Remove Nails From the Back of the Trim to Save the Tree

When renovating, it is best to keep the cladding to avoid the hassle of finding a replacement. But first you need to remove your nails. Here’s a great tip on how to do this without damaging the tree.

After the trim is removed from the wall, you will see nails along its entire length. Instead of hammering nails through the front, use wire cutters or pliers to pull the nails out from the back.

This method prevents the nail heads from piercing the paint and leaving visible holes in the front or damaged tears in the nails. Watch the video above to see an example of this technique.
