Evernote for IOS Now Lets You Draw or Write on Notes by Hand
iPhone / iPad: Have you ever wanted to take a quick sketch or handwritten note in Evernote? Your wish came true today, at least on iOS.
Update Evernote for iOS to the latest version and you’ll see a new pen icon when you create a note. This gives you access to four tools: pen, highlighter, eraser and selection tool, with a choice between five line weights and color options. (The selection tool is pretty cool. You can select part of your drawing or signed note and then move it, although you can’t resize or otherwise manipulate it.) When you’re done, the image will resize to fit inside the note. , but you can add more to the image later.
Your sketches sync with other platforms (including Android), and Evernote’s handwriting recognition feature will find text inside your handwritten notes.
It works with your finger and the Apple Pencil iPad Pro, and is pressure sensitive if your device supports 3D Touch.
While it probably won’t replace your favorite mobile drawing app, being able to jot something down quickly on your phone or using a tablet instead of napkins to sketch ideas is awesome, especially if you’re already using Evernote’s other awesome features .
Handwriting is now available in Evernote on Android, but the iOS version seems to have a few more options than the Android version. It is not yet known when ink will appear on other platforms (Windows, please!). Although the answer is probably “soon.”
