Make a Precision Wood Dowel Mandrel
It is easy to connect thin pieces of wood to each other using dowels , which form strong connections. But lining them up is not an easy process. Make this dowel template for drilling precise holes.
Dowel joinery is a great alternative to pocket drilling. They are ideal for cabinetry and other small woodworking applications.
The dowel holes can be marked manually by measuring and aligning the parts to be attached, or using the dowel tool. Store-bought dowel jigs can do this job in different ways and are more accurate in time savings than manual measurement.
You can use a couple of pieces of wood and grommets to make a cheap and accurate dowel attachment. A drilling machine with a Forstner drill will help keep holes straight and clean, and bushings can be purchased at any hardware store.
