Office Online Adds Chrome Extension, Skype Integration and More
The free web version of Microsoft Office just got a lot better. You can now quickly open or create a new Office Online document from a Chrome extension, and use Skype instant messaging or video calls in an open Office document.
The Chrome extension is a convenient way to create a new document, and now there are fewer steps to open your Office Online file in OneDrive. Click on the Chrome extension to do the same.
Native Skype integration was added in Office 2016 for desktop last month, but it’s now also integrated into Office Online. If you are co-authoring a document, you can also discuss it in the Skype sidebar via a browser.
