Things are easier to move downward than upward, and this can lead to a clump of gadgets, toys, clothing, and other things that will overtake you below. Becky Rapinchuk from Clean Mama suggests avoiding this problem with the “on the way up” basket that you place next to the stairs. Just use the basket to pound on loose items that have a house upstairs and pick them all up later when you actually head there. Basically, anything you don’t want to do right now goes to the trash for later. It might sound a little lazy, but why go up and down stairs all day when you can only do it once? If you have kids, adding to their daily list is no easy task either.
