Foods such as rice, oatmeal, potatoes, and huge green leafy salads are successful because they are effective at keeping you full, thanks to their high volume-to-calorie and satiety ratios. A high food volume to calorie ratio in this case means the feeling that you are eating a ton of food with a reasonable amount of calories.
