Carve Out the Pumpkin From the Bottom for Easier Lighting

Carving your standard pumpkin lantern is pretty simple: you start at the top, carve out the pumpkin guts, and then give it a snout. But it might even be easier to start at the bottom.

It’s not rocket science to put a candle in a pumpkin, but minor annoyances can arise: for example, you can’t reach the bottom to light it. It’s easy enough to get around, but the Happy Hooligans crafting site offers a simple solution:

Just cut a hole at the bottom of the pumpkin and remove it permanently. Most of the intestines will be pulled out with it, so you only need to quickly scrape the inside of the pumpkin.

This way, the pumpkin is not only easier to light but also easier to take out the insides. It is worth noting that when setting fire to the pumpkin, you need to be careful, no matter how you cut it. Allstate recommends staying away from real candles and choosing LEDs or glow sticks instead. Alternatively, you can use electric string lights, and by cutting from the bottom, you can hide the cord.

This is a pretty simple tip, but you can follow the link below to find out more.
