Present Your Kids With a Hotel Business Card in Case They Get Lost
If you are traveling with children, their safety is your number one concern. Give them your hotel business card at check-in so that if they get lost or need to find their way back they know where to go or have an address to give to the taxi driver or police officer.
Most hotels have business cards, but if you are staying in a hostel or bed and breakfast, they may not. In this case, write the place name, address and telephone number in the local language. You can even add a message like “Please take me to the address: [hotel address]”. Keeping it on your phone is great, but a paper copy is perfect – you don’t want your child’s safety to depend on whether their phone is stolen or the battery is malfunctioning.
If your child knows to show a card when he asks for help, instead of wandering around (and possibly getting even more lost), he will return safely to you. It’s a little tip (you can think of it as you in case your phone breaks and you get lost), but it can make a big difference when you’re abroad, lost and alone.
