The Forecast Panel Puts Tons of Weather Information on Your Mac’s Menu Bar
Mac: The weather is fickle, but if you want to stay up to date on your Mac, you don’t have many options other than updating the website. The Forecast Dashboard is an app to help you do that, with a forecast in the menu bar, weather alerts, and more.
The forecast panel uses Forecast.io , so the interface should be familiar to anyone who has used this or an app like Dark Sky . It’s simple, but still contains a ton of information. There are many customizable options in the app, so you can customize the weather in the menu bar or dock, display a different number of days, delve into features like visibility or UV radiation, and more. In short, it’s a pretty powerful little weather app that’s customizable enough for anyone to find a use for it. This is very similar to Carrot Weather , except for all that.
There is a catch in the price. The basic version costs $ 5.99, but there are in-app purchases to see how often the app is updated. By default, it updates the weather once an hour. If you want faster updates, you’ll have to pay for them ($ 19.99 for 15-minute updates and $ 29.99 for 10-minute updates). It’s a bit absurd, but the good news is that most of us should be fine with hourly updates anyway.
