Aincrad’s Desktop
Look, you may love or hate SAO, but this desktop is pretty cute, and it came to us from frequent Jalop commenter, jester74 . It’s a beautiful Linux desktop that’s easy to customize.
Jester74 left this in our desktop showcase a while ago, but we’re just getting to it now. Still looks great. Here’s what you need to get set up on your Linux system:
- Aincrad Wallpaper by Chris Layman
- Conky , a lightweight system monitor for Linux
- Harmattan , customization tool and theme for Conky, transparent on your desktop
- Plank dock as an application launcher (bottom of the screen)
- Nuimix Circle Icon Pack to replace system icons and customize dock
That’s all. Simple, beautiful, and everything goes well with each other. Look, I have an opinion on SAO too, but if I can look beyond them to appreciate the desktop, you can too. If you’re setting up your own and have questions, need help making it look right, or just want to tell jester74 how much you like his work, leave a comment on his Kinja post linked below!
