Rinse the Beans in the Jar They Got Into by Punching Holes in Its Bottom

Canned beans don’t need to be rinsed before eating, but if you don’t want to add extra liquid to your recipe (or just don’t want all that salt), you can easily rinse them in your own jar. without staining the colander.

Of course, you can use this tip from America’s Test Kitchen (link below) on any canned food, not just beans. Just punch a few holes in the bottom of the can with the opener, turn the can right-side up, and remove the top. (I recommend doing this over a sink.) Let the liquid drain through the bottom, rinse, and you’re ready to go.
