Best Time of the Week to Shop at Thrift Stores
While some places will be better than others , most thrift stores offer serious discounts on decent used items. If you want the best of the best, take some time to shop early in the week.
Savings shops such as The Salvation Army and Goodwill receive most of their supplies from donations, so their supplies depend on what comes in handy and when. That’s why Apartment Therapy’s Dabny Freik invites you to drop by your preferred store right after the weekend:
Most stores get a flood of merchandise on weekends when they have time to load things into their cars and throw them away. There aren’t many “good things” at the end of the week, so wait until Monday or Tuesday for the volunteers to sort through the donations and fill up the shelves.
Of course, while most stores will operate this way, some stores may be slower to replenish their shelves. This could mean that Tuesday is better than Monday wherever you are. Wednesday may be even better, but it will most likely be the first half of the week. It’s also best to pick them up in the morning, and spring cleaning can turn this time of year into a gold mine .
