How to Get Rid of Yard Waste
Clearing branches, leaves, and other debris from your yard is a relief, but you end up with a huge pile of yard debris. Here’s what to do about it.
If you have any remaining plants, old sod and cuttings from harvesting, you are probably wondering how to get rid of them. Any plants that can be kept or planted in pots can be used elsewhere in your home or given away. The rest of the organic material, however, must be disposed of responsibly.
- Call your local sanitation department to pick you up. Waste management will collect waste from your yard and put it to good use by mulching it. There is a limit to what they can take.
- Take it to a landfill. If you have a truck, this is one of the easiest solutions. Make sure your landfill accepts yard waste for recycling. They may charge you per load or per weight.
- Bump stop rental. If you have a lot of heavy branches and bushes, a shredder can be a good solution for converting yard waste into mulch. They cost between $ 200 and $ 400 per day. Special care should be taken when using this type of machine. Use this mulch for your new yard.
- Hire a team. Look for a garbage collection or garbage collection service in your area. They come and carry him away. They will take it to a landfill or recycling center. In many cases, this is more economical than renting a chipper.
Your local laws may also permit the burning of yard waste, but we do not recommend doing this as it releases pollutants and can lead to uncontrolled fires. If you absolutely must, make sure it is allowed and make sure you follow their instructions on how to dispose of your trash this way.
