Form a Virtual Group of Pomodoros to Stop Relaxing When Working Alone
When you work alone, there is no team or boss to hold you accountable and tasks are left unattended . Try creating a virtual group based on the Pomodoro technique that works together and motivates each other.
Shari Alexander recommends a strictly calculated work schedule: 20 minutes of work with a 10-minute break. Here’s how Alexander arranged it:
We walked around and told everyone what we were working on and what we would be doing during working hours. Then one person sets a timer for working hours. We did Tomatoes – 20 minutes of work followed by a 10 minute chat break. You can set the time however you like. During scheduled work, everyone turns off their microphones and begins to crack.
The number of people, the time set for work and chat, the application used for the meeting, and other such details are entirely up to you. The broader idea is to create a group of people that will keep you from feeling lonely when working alone and give you a boost when you’re not doing small jobs. Alexandra said it was especially helpful for her to finish the rough work she always put off.
