Google Now Update Improves Map Organization and Delivers Smarter News Suggestions
Google announced a new logo yesterday. While that wasn’t a big deal, the company also started rolling out a new version of Google Now last night. This one is very different. For the better.
The new version of Google Now actually organizes your cards. Whereas before any cards that Google wanted to show you were merged into one giant list, the new version has categories such as Updates for You and Stories to Read. Grouping now makes more sense.
That alone would be a welcome change, but it doesn’t end there. The new version also appears to have improved the news suggestions (although it is unclear how much this is directly related to the recent update). The newscards are larger, with a lot of text and images. You can also now horizontally scroll certain cards, such as the Upcoming Events card, so that they take up less space on your Now timeline.
If you want to try out the new popularity but don’t want to wait for the release to hit your phone, you can download the new Google APK from Android Police below.
