Plump Saggy Sofa Cushions With Just a Few Buttons
Saggy, uneven sofa cushions are a natural part of an old comfortable sofa. This does not mean that you cannot decorate them. Give your sofa a new lease of life and a fresh look by sewing on a few extra buttons that can be bought for a dollar or two from your local craft store.
The best part about this tip is that all you need are buttons. You will need to remove the padding from the pillows and replace it later (so make sure you can do this easily before opening them), but all you really need is a needle, thread, and a few matching buttons. Instructables userSolboexplains how todecorate pillows:
- Remove the cushion padding and unfold the fabric.
- Place the buttons evenly on the fabric. Use a safety pin to hold the buttons on one side while you line up the buttons on the other side of the pillow.
- Sew each set of buttons together across the fabric of the pillow.
- Add the filling back to the pillow.
That’s all there is to it. Super easy solution, and the photo above shows the before and after pretty clearly. If you don’t like the way the buttons look, you can also use polyamide and batting for a similar effect . To see step-by-step photos, click on the link below.
