Feed the Plants With the Remaining Cooking Water

Just a quick PSA: The next time you boil (or steam) vegetables, eggs, or pasta, don’t drain any leftover water down the drain. Water can benefit your garden or houseplants.

This might be a tip for many of you already doing this, but as a plant grower and gardener, I just found out that I was wasting this water. Since plant nutrients seep into the water during cooking, and eggshells contain calcium, which plants love, cooking water can potentially energize your plants. In addition to nutrients, it also helps conserve water, which is especially important in arid regions.

ETA: Make sure the water is cool before watering the plants!
