Bing for Android Adds Google to Touch-Style Contextual Search Cards
Android: Google Now on Tap was the coolest feature announced at Google I / O this year . However, you still cannot use it. If you want to understand how it works, Microsoft has gone further and added it to their Bing app.
This feature allows you to crawl any page you are currently reading and retrieve search results and / or links to other applications (like IMDb or Wikipedia) for action. In my short tests, this function seemed a little crude. Some contexts, which seemed to at least be able to pick up some proper nouns, did not produce any results. Microsoft also announced that they are making the API available to developers, but it is unclear how many third-party developers are actually plugging into this feature to improve it. While there is still room for improvement, this one is actually available, while Now on Tap won’t arrive until Android Marshmallow finally arrives .
