Most Popular Bookshelf Speakers: Klipsch RB-61 II
A good pair of bookshelf speakers are exceptional, compact, and easy to use. We asked your favorites last week and then reviewed the top five bookshelf speakers . We will now return to your favorite.
With almost 36% of the vote, the Klipsch RB-61 II took first place. They may be gone soon, so hit fast, but you loved them for their value for money and for sounding great in small to medium sized rooms without requiring absolute power.
Note : Klipsch sent us a message saying the RB-61 II might be discontinued, but the Klipsch RP-160M bookshelf speaker is its successor, so if you like the look and sound of the RB-61 II you can check them out. …
Second place went to the M-Audio AV 40s , an active speaker set with just under 19% of the vote. You loved their compact design, exceptional sound, and the fact that you can use them anywhere without an amplifier or receiver between them and your audio source. Audioengine P4 passive bookshelf speakers fell to third place with just one vote and gained another 19% of the vote. They are highly praised for great sound in a tiny package that can be installed anywhere, for their sleek design and, of course, for a great price for the sound you get from them. The Pioneer SP-BS22LR finished fourth with 18% of the vote, thanks to its great price, endorsement from The Wirecutter, and great reviews in the comments. Rounding out the top five are Dayton Audio B652s , with just under 9% of the vote and some solid accolades in the round of nominations for sound worthy of speakers at twice (or more) the price.
