Suspicious Package Checks PKG Files on Mac Before Installing Them
Mac: All types of hardware, codecs, and other internal Mac applications require a PKG file to be installed instead of the standard installation file. It might be a little scary, but the Suspicious Package allows you to look inside these files before installing them.
When you download a PKG file from a trusted source, you really don’t have to worry about anything, but you may still need to get them from other sources from time to time. With Suspicious Package, you can open any PKG file in Quick Look (select the file and press the spacebar) to look inside and get a better understanding of what you are installing. Most of us won’t need this too often, but it’s nice to keep it close at hand for those times when you need to install something a little shady. There is of course a little irony that the suspicious package itself is a PKG file, but we find it nice.
