Open Windows Explorer on “This PC” Instead of Quick Access.
Windows 10: In the newer version of Windows, File Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes folders you use frequently and recent files. By default, Explorer opens this page when you open a new window. If you prefer to open the regular This PC with links to your drives and library folders, here’s how to do it.
As with most things in Windows, this is a simple setting that can be changed, but hidden in some menus. To change the default explorer page to this computer, follow these steps:
- Open a new explorer window.
- Click View on the Ribbon.
- Click Options.
- In the General section, next to Open File Explorer For :, select This PC.
- Click OK.
Now, when you launch a new explorer window, you will start from this computer, which you are probably used to from past versions.
