Google Hangouts for Android Gets a New Look, Simplified Sharing
Android: Google today updated the Hangouts Android app with a whole new look with Google Material Design . But more importantly, they’ve added new features that make the app even more optimized than ever.
Attachments have been simplified so you can now share photos, emoticons and even your location right from the tab located in the chat window. You can even select multiple photos to send at the same time. You’ll also find a new compose message button that makes it easy to start a conversation, with an intuitive contact list that features people you communicate with frequently. Hangouts Dialer calls will now display your ID (you will no longer appear as “Unknown”), and you can also reply to group MMS messages in Hangouts using Google Voice. Android Wear users can also send Hangouts messages directly from their watch.
Google also promises to fix bugs, improve speed, and reduce battery drain with Hangouts 4.0. You can find out more about the release and download the new version from the links below.
