Write Text in Any Editor and Send It Anywhere With Keyboard Maestro

Keyboard Maestro is a powerful automation tool for Mac that can do just about anything. On MacStories, they show you how to use it so you can write text in any application and then automatically send it elsewhere with a keyboard shortcut.

The idea is to reproduce the now defunct QuickCursor , which allowed you to press a keyboard shortcut in any text window (like a browser), open your favorite text editor, and then automatically submit that text back to its original text form. … This is great for things like email or writing on the Internet, where you might prefer a more powerful text editor. With the Keyboard Maestro macro below, you can reproduce this function. Open a text box, tap a keyboard shortcut, then you will be taken to a text editor of your choice. The text will be automatically updated in the original text box. You can customize it to work with any application of your choice.
