Disable This Setting to Remove Most Frequently Used From the Start Menu.
Windows 10: The new Start Menu is a welcome addition after it was removed from Windows 10. However, it brings some new annoyances with it. By default, the Start menu now displays all of the most frequently used applications on your computer. If you don’t want to see it, here’s how to turn it off.
While a list of your most used apps might be helpful to some, it might not be very clear about what you need, or maybe you just like your privacy. Anyway, to get rid of it, follow these steps:
- Open the start menu.
- Find “Initial Settings”.
- In the “Start” section, turn off the “Show most used apps” switch.
You can also disable Show Recently Added Apps in this section if you don’t want all your recently installed apps to be displayed here. It’s worth noting that if you disable any of these features and then re-enable them, the history will be reset. Windows won’t remember which apps you are using if you disable this. It also means it’s a handy way to start over if your usage habits change and the section you use most often isn’t all that useful anymore.
