Finding the Perfect Work-Life Balance Is Impossible and Okay.
We would all like to think that there is a model of the perfect work-life balance: you kill her in the office and then continue to be a rock star when you come home. But is this the frantic, unbalanced feeling that occurs when you constantly stumble? It means that you are doing everything right .
The School of Life video above takes a good look at the situation: work-life balance is inherently like being a jack of all trades. You probably won’t be a perfect master at anything, but that’s okay – that means you have chosen breadth and variety over perfection. If you don’t want to be the next Steve Jobs, life will always be in balance, and that’s okay.
This does not mean that we cannot strive, but as we all know: perfection is the enemy of good. Always strive to be better, but don’t be discouraged when you’re not perfect.
