Send Emails From 6 AM to 7 AM for a Better Chance of a Response
When sending an email, time matters. Send email when the recipient’s inbox is full and your chances of a response may be slim. This data shows that you are more likely to receive this response if you send an email early in the morning.
We said earlier that 2:00 pm might be the best time to send emails . And while Mailchimp data does show that people are more likely to open newsletter emails between 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm, new data from the email productivity service Yesware shows that there are more responses for morning emails.
Specifically, Yesware found that emails sent between 6 am and 7 am and around 8 pm were likely to receive a response. The response rate was 45%, higher than at any other time. But it’s also worth noting that fewer emails are sent during this time. You can see how the number of responses and the number of responses are related in the graph above.
They studied 500,000 emails sent in the first quarter of 2014. They mentioned several additional takeaways from their data:
Email open and reply rates are highest on weekends when competition between mailboxes is low.
People are most responsive in the early morning or late evening. Experiment with sending emails between 6 and 7 a.m. or around 8 p.m.
All days of the week are equal. Instead of contrasting Monday to Friday, focus on reaching out to you at an effective time of day, improving your subject line, and harnessing the power of social proof to get more answers.
Weekend and evening emails give high responses, but Yesware seems to set off early mornings, probably because most people don’t like work-related emails at night or on weekends. Here are a few things to keep in mind if your email needs attention. Check out the full post at the link below.
