Material Design Desktop
We recently introduced our friend Sanjeev’s desktop, but his last one is too good not to make it stand out. He tweaked his Mac to look a lot like the design you get in Android Lollipop or Android M. Here’s how he did it.
In this case, GeekTool is all you really need to get the job done, and like its old desktop, it offers all the custom code you’ll need to do this on its Flickr page (link below). Here’s what you’ll need first though:
- The Dark Material Design Wallpaper
- System Monitor and GeekTool Configuration Utility for OS X
That’s it – and you need to create your Geeklets for the clock now playing on the Spotify display and the date on the side. They all go well with wallpaper too. To get the code, click on the link below, and if you have questions about how to change or tweak something that way, be sure to ask Sanjiv on his Flickr page – he’s quite susceptible to questions!
Do you have a beautiful and functional desktop to show off? Share with us! Post it to your personal Kinja blog using the Desktop Showcase tag, or add it to our Lifehacker Desktop Show and Tell Flickr pool . Screenshots must be at least 640×360 in size and include information about what you used, links to wallpapers, skins and themes, and any other important information. If your wonderful desktop catches our attention, you may be on our favorites!
