Pre-Chill the Cooler to Keep Drinks Cool for Longer
Coolers are designed to maintain temperature. Obviously, this is why they are so good at keeping our drinks and food cold. And pre-cooling the cooler will help to cool down longer.
This tip is courtesy of Epicurious. They explain:
… if you store your cooler in a hot attic at home or in a hot garage, be sure to bring it inside and open it for airing the day before packing. Ideally, you want to keep it cool. DJ Bell, director of product marketing for Yeti Coolers, recommends tossing a sacrificial ice pack in an empty refrigerator to chill it for at least a few hours before packing. (Throw away the ice before packing – it has done its job.)
