Add a Carry Clip to the Tanner and Dispose of the Pouch
A popular way to carry a Leatherman or multitool is to carry a bag on your belt. For everyday wear, attach a metal clip that still allows you to open and close the instrument.
Leatherman bags are functional, but not quite stylish. They also need time to tinker and make it clear that you are carrying a knife. Manufacturers have beenmodifying theirbags over the years, but this clip may be the most elegant solution.
Start with a Leatherman Surge or a large multi-tool and a 1/4-inch cold rolled metal rod . Bend and cut the rod to the desired clip shape, then weld the ends of the rod to the Leatherman on the open side.
The multi-tool does not open after the clip is welded on. To fix this, use a copy saw with a metal blade and cut through the middle of the clamp.
When you’re done, your Leatherman will fit easily into your pocket and will be held in place by the clip.
