Stop an Impending Sneeze by Stretching Your Nose
There is nothing wrong with sneezing well (covering your nose and mouth), but sometimes you need to be quiet or avoid attention. If you need to prevent sneezing, you can do a simple nose trick.
While the method you see in cartoons of having someone put a finger under their nose to stop sneezing may work, it is not the only effective approach. Instead, Professor Alexander Freikher of Quora suggests doing something different with your nose:
Pinch your nose. Grasp the portion of your nose above the tip and pull it out as if you were removing your nose from your face. This shouldn’t be painful, but just stretch the cartilage and stop sneezing.
Keep in mind that this will not clear your sinuses that are causing you to sneeze. So you might still need to sneeze later, but that will at least put it off for now. If you feel like a strong sneeze is coming and you know you can’t stop it, there are a few tricks you can do to at least make it quieter .
