Save Money by Volunteering Instead of Costly Community Events
If you’re trying to save money, social events like brunch or drinks can be overwhelming as they tend to be expensive. Changing an expensive activity to volunteering is also a great way to see your friends regularly and do good things.
You may need to do a little work to convince your friends that volunteering together is a reliable alternative to regular meals and drinks outside the home. Try suggesting this to friends you know are interested in volunteering or in the best interests of the volunteer first. For example, I recently told a new friend of mine about how I’m going to volunteer at SPCA and she joined me for a training. Now we will have once a week when we see each other, and it will not cost any of us a cent.
