Most Popular Cookbook for Beginners: How to Cook Everything by Mark Bittman
We are not saying that you should be limited to one cookbook, but in the last week, we asked you to give you the best cookbooks for beginners . We then reviewed and voted the top five beginner cookbooks . It’s time to crown our winner.
Voting was intense all weekend, but ultimately Mark Bittman ‘s How to Cook It All took first place in our poll with nearly 28% of the vote. You said that this is definitely a good time for both beginners and experts.
Second place went to the more encyclopedic cookbook that almost everyone has or should have in their kitchen, The Joy of Cooking , by Rombauer, Marion Rombauer Becker, and Ethan Becker. He brought in just under 25% of the vote. Third place and 22% of the vote went to Elton Brown’s book, I’m Here for Food, a book that many of you praise for bringing science and cooking together in a fun and easy-to-understand format. Fourth place went to The Better Homes and Gardens New Cookbook with just 14% of the votes, and second place is still one of our favorites – The Science of Good Cooking by The Editors of America’s Test kitchen and Guy Crosby, Ph … .D, another great book that combines cooking well with how to cook well and how to do it at home, as well as tons of tried and tested recipes. He got 12% of the vote.
