Google Maps Has Been Updated to Send Routes From the Desktop to Your IPhone
iOS: If you tend to search for locations on the desktop more often than on your phone, Google has introduced a handy feature for iOS that lets you send location requests from the desktop version of Google Maps to your iPhone with one click.
Once enabled, you can instantly send any location from your desktop computer to your iOS device as long as they are signed in to the same account by clicking the Send to Device button in the desktop version after searching for the location. To use this feature, you need to first enable it on your iOS device:
- Open Google Maps on iOS and make sure you’re signed in to your Google account.
- Tap the Settings menu and open Settings.
- Tap Notifications.
- Make sure Sent from Desktop Maps is turned on and notifications are turned on for Google Maps.
After that, you should see the Send to Device option in Google Maps on your desktop. If not, try logging out and logging back in. The same feature has been in Android since April.
