Stop Procrastinating by Reminding Yourself Why What You Do Is Important.
When you are procrastinating, sometimes you just need to work just a few minutes to get started . Other times, you just need to remind yourself why what you do matters.
It’s easy to lose sight of why you’re doing something, especially if you’re just focusing on how much you don’t want to do it. So when you find yourself putting it off, think about why you should do it – don’t just think about it hanging over your head. For example, when I first started writing as a freelancer, I often put off actually working for a presentation. But as soon as I reminded myself that if I didn’t write, I could never get my work published, I became much better at the task.
Of course, if you can’t find a good answer to the “why” question, then maybe you should check again if this task is really important.
