Peel the Pomegranate With a Wooden Spoon in 10 Seconds
Pomegranates are one of the best winter seasons, but it takes a lot of effort to clean them and remove the seeds. Forget about a bowl of water: a wooden spoon can peel a pomegranate in seconds.
We originally published this post a few years ago using this YouTube video , but are back with a brand new video that we shot ourselves – in slow motion so you can see the magic happen.
All you have to do is cut it in half as usual, push the center out a little, and then just start hitting the back with a wooden spoon. Done correctly, all seeds should fall directly into the bowl in just a few seconds. I’ve done this a few times and it’s really great. Watch the video above to see it in action, or watch the original video for a more detailed (and very long) explanation of how it works.
And of course, check out all the other crazy kitchen tricks that can speed up your cooking like this one.
