Most Popular Way to Send Money Online: PayPal
Sending money to other people is now easier than ever, and there are some great apps that can do it quickly and for free. Earlier this week, we asked for your favorites , then looked at five of the best ways to send money online , and now we’re back to highlight the winner of our poll.
The first place was fiercely fought (as it should be), but the veteran of the group, PayPal , took first place with just 26% of the vote. This means that no one won by a wide margin. The runner-up was about 20 votes behind the leader, just to let you know how close he was, but the fact that PayPal has been around for a long time, it’s a well-known name and is effectively a bank of its own made many of you turn to him. Some of you have just said that this is the only product you have ever heard of, although it is well known for its fees, loopholes, terrible customer service, and questionable policies . However, he took first place.
Second place went to Square Cash with over 25% of the votes. Many of you loved the fast and free money transfers, easy registration and their “$ CashTags” that let you post a word or phrase anywhere and receive donations from friends or patrons who love your work. Third place was taken by Google Wallet , which allows you to quickly check out online, again for free, but also allows you to easily check out in stores with your Android device, send money to someone else via Gmail, and more. He got 23% of the vote. Favorite Venmo came in at fourth place with over 18% of the vote, also offering fast and free money transfers and a wallet feature that makes it easy to save the money you’ve sent you before being cashed out. Finally, speaking in the rear was one of the more useful but limited services in the review, Chase Quick Pay , which Chase customers (and many others) swear by, but difficult to find for non-Chase customers.
