Notification Counter Adds Numeric Icons to Android Notifications

Android ( rooted with Xposedo ): Some programs, like Gmail, may show you have multiple unread notifications, but they won’t tell you how many. Notification Counter is an Xposed module for rooted phones that adds a number icon to all your notifications.

For this setup, you’ll need the Xposed framework installed as described in our guide here . Installation is simple: just open the Xposed installer, go to the Download section and search for Notification Counter (continued). Install the module, then activate it and restart your phone.

It should work with several apps by default, including Gmail. However, for some apps, you may need to enable a workaround in your notification counter settings. Find the number of notifications in the app drawer, open it, and tap the “Whitelist” option. Turn on any apps that don’t show icons and (hopefully) they will start working. You can also change the appearance of the icons, as well as test the module in its settings.
