Organize Your Hand Tools With These Custom Made Wall Brackets
There are many options for storing hand tools. From styrofoam cutouts and perforated boards to French spikes and toolboxes. For inspiration from a unique wall system, watch the video above.
Mathias Wandel of Woodgears.ca shows us his wall with tools hanging from his custom-made wooden fixtures. With this setup, he can easily see and get hold of the tools he needs, and also know which tools are missing.
The video below goes into more detail on how he built the bindings and why he prefers them over French boots. He uses a little more than a band saw and a Forstner drill to make the bindings. All of them are shaped to match the tool for which they are intended, and the fasteners are attached directly to the plywood sheet.
Unlike French studs, these bindings are not easy to move, but a much more elegant solution. He demonstrates more of the process in the video part 2 below.
