Remove Excess Salt From Nuts by Shaking Them in a Paper Bag

Nuts – and some legumes masquerading as nuts – are a great snack, but they can sometimes be too salty. A few paper towels, a paper bag, and a few good shakes will help.

Perhaps you accidentally bought salted nuts from a store and did not notice it. Or maybe you really wanted some salt, but when you tried them, it was still more than you wanted. If you rinse them out, they will get wet, so what can you do? Commentator m_j_s at The Kitchn suggests putting them in a paper bag with crumpled paper towels and shaking them like crazy. Rubbing paper towels will remove excess salt, so you can go back to your snack or try the recipe. Of course, salt isn’t necessarily bad for you , but you don’t want salt to completely overwhelm your taste buds. If they are really bad, you can rinse them, but remember to roast them in the oven to dry.
