Add Sichuan Peppercorns for Extra Extraordinary Weekday Classic Pasta
Time-saving and inexpensive weekday lunches: We all need more of them, and it can be difficult to keep the intrigue going when you cook the same convenience foods over and over again. Here is an unusual way to breathe new life into one of our favorite pasta products for the rapid preparation of weekdays , cacio e pepe (pasta with cheese and pepper).
The lush Cacio e pepe sauce consists of just two ingredients: grated cheese and black pepper. To keep things interesting, The Woks of Life’s Caitlyn Leung suggests swapping out some of your everyday black peppercorns for white, as well as Sichuan peppercorns , pink peppercorns known for imparting a pleasant sizzle sensation to popular Chinese dishes like ma po tofu .
