The Great Suspender Frees up Memory by Suspending Browser Tabs
Chrome: It’s okay to keep tabs open for long periods of time to work. This is why pinned tabs exist. However, if you only need these tabs a few times a day, opening them and using memory can become an unnecessary leak. Great Suspender lightens the load by allowing you to suspend tabs and reload them when you choose.
The extension keeps tabs open in your browser, but removes their contents from memory. So, let’s say you want Gmail to stay open while you’re working, you can pause it when you’re not checking your email or want to be distracted. It will stay there until you need it, but it won’t stop your system. You can also set it to automatically pause tabs that have not been touched for a certain amount of time. It’s also handy if you need to restart your browser. Each tab you pause is one less tab that automatically reloads when you restart your browser.
Update: It looks like we’ve covered this before . Sorry for the duplicate!
