Of course, this very large bag of tortilla chips probably seemed like a great idea at the time … until you discover that you have an unfinished bag of tough, stubborn corn triangles that you can’t throw away. Fear not, though: you can give stale tortilla chips a new lease on life.
You can restore stale corn chips in a toaster or microwave , but if you don’t have either of these devices, there are many ways to use them. Epicurious offers a number of other ways to extend the life of a toopos. Our favorite idea: sauté them in a hot red chili sauce with queso fresco and Monterey Jack cheese, then add a fried egg for the classic Mexican breakfast – chilaquiles.
