Get Rid of Static Electricity With Hand Lotion or Hairspray
Static clinging can be frustrating, but it can be easily prevented. If it flares up and you’re stranded, you can use hairspray or hand lotion to get rid of that annoying clinging.
When I wash, I don’t do anything to prevent static electricity because most of my wardrobe doesn’t cling. But some of my garments fit and I always wear them by surprise. I have found that a thin layer of hand lotion, lightly rubbed into clothing and where it sticks, is good for getting rid of static electricity.
Jezebel writer Erin Gloria Ryan can vouch for this trick :
One tried and tested desperate move, but MacGyvery, who used to be my mainstay in the office, is to sneak into the bathroom with a bottle of lotion and simply rub the part of your pantyhose that sticks to your skirt (or the part of your skin that sticks to your pants, or part of your flip flops that stick to your kilt, or whatever). Let it dry a little and then continue on your merry way.

Aside from hand lotion, I also found a light mist of hairspray to work as well. I just spray on the inside of my clothes and it seems to reduce static electricity.
Of course, whichever method you choose, you should also take care not to damage your clothes. The smallest amount will go a long way.
