Best Days and Times to Check Out New Vacancies
When you are looking for a job, catch a job posting as soon as it appears, only in your best interest. There are a couple of days and periods of time that you should be prepared for.
If you can apply for a job early enough, you have a better chance of getting noticed and getting through the first wave of interviews. Skip this first wave and it will be much more difficult to get the gig. Jerome Ternink, Founder and CEO of SmartRecruiters, took a look at the data compiled from over 270,000 job postings and noticed a couple of trends:
- Tuesday is the best day to look for new messages. Hiring managers probably use Monday to catch up after the weekend.
- The highest concentration of job advertisements appears around 11 am, followed by a daily decline around 4 pm (local employer time).
Other days that can still be nice to look at are Monday and Wednesday at 11:00 and 16:00, but they are not as focused as Tuesday. However, Terninch notes that being connected is probably the best way to get a job, but it still doesn’t hurt to apply as soon as possible. Keep checking early in the week during the morning and afternoon downturns.
