Make Powdered Nutella for Snack and Dessert Fillings With Maltodextrin

Nutella is a delicious treat. So delicious that one might wish to sprinkle it on everything. With a little maltodextrin, you can.

Maltodextrin is a starch and food additive that is used to thicken many commercial products such as reduced fat peanut butter, candy, and even beer. Travelers also use it to make it easier to transport dirty food, and it does a pretty good job of getting butter to melt in your mouth rather than on popcorn . At Instructables, user Scottbus wanted to take his snacks and desserts to the next level, so he created his own powdered Nutella that could be sprinkled with anything. Mix a little maltodextrin with a little Nutella in a 60/40 ratio and it will dry to a crumbly, powdery form. Now you can sprinkle them on ice cream, baked goods, and even peanut butter sandwiches.

Keep in mind that the powdered version of Nutella is no more beneficial to your health than regular Nutella. Scottbus suggests, however, using tapioca maltodextrin because it is GMO and gluten free. To find out more, you can find full instructions at the link below.
