The Best Way to Clean Your Brush With the Least Amount of Thinner

They say paint is all it takes to prepare, and a clean brush will ensure the next paint starts correctly. The careful approach shown here allows you to use the least amount of paint thinner and maximize its effectiveness.

A quality brush like Purdy will last for years if taken care of. They cost a little more but are definitely worth it. If you’ve ever had to repaint something due to using a cheap brush to form lines or lose bristles in paint, then you know that a good brush pays off quickly.

The cleaning technique shown above uses only 1/8 inch of solvent to thoroughly dip and soak the brush. More solvent will not be more effective at cleaning the brush, so why waste it?

After the brush is saturated with solvent, run a stainless steel wire brush through it several times, then repeat the entire process 4-5 times. This may seem like a tedious trick, but you will save money on thinner brushes and replacing dirty brushes. Watch the video to see the entire process in action.
