Ugly Mail Identifies Emails That Track You
Chrome: People can track if you’ve seen an email using tracking pixels, and if the idea makes you cringe a little, Ugly Mail alerts you when an email you receive might track you.
Ugly Mail tracks your email for pixel tracking services such as Yesware, Bananatag and Streak. When you open an email with tracking pixels, the sender will be informed that you opened it, whether you clicked a link, where you are and what device you are on. With Ugly Mail, when you receive an email that is tracking you, you will see a small eye icon so you can decide if you want to open it. At the moment, Ugly Mail only works with Gmail and Chrome. If you really want to block those tracking pixels, another Chrome extension, PixelBlock , does it for you.
