Prepare for Your Interview by Writing Three Answers to Each Question
Usually, you have a pretty good idea of what questions will be asked in the interview. As you prepare your responses, it is helpful to write them down. You may also have several different answers on hand.
Laszlo Block, Google’s senior vice president of human resources, provides some tips for interviewing. Obviously, you want to minimize the time and effort you spend searching your brain for answers in order to rehearse what you are about to say in advance. Lazlo suggests writing these answers down to help you remember them.
In addition, he says that you should be prepared for three different answers:
Why three? Each question should be answered differently, equally good, because the first interviewer may not like your story. You want the next interviewer to hear a different story. Thus, they can become your protector.
When you have three at hand, you can also evaluate the tone of any interview and choose the answer that best suits your needs. Obviously, you want your answers to be truthful and not contradictory.
